Jump-Start Your Cloud Journey with Sierra-Cedar and Oracle Analytics Cloud
As a long-time Essbase, Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE), and Oracle Business Intelligence Application (OBIA) user or a new Essbase, OBIEE, and OBIA user, are you wondering how your cubes and BI reporting could work in the Cloud? This five-part webinar series will provide Essbase and BI users and administrators the tools necessary to plan and implement your Essbase calculations and reporting and Oracle BI analytics in Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC). Each session will focus on financial reporting cubes, allocation cubes, and related operational and management reporting cubes, including OBIEE and OBIA reporting, analytics and data visualizations.
Configure, Provision, and Migrate to Oracle Analytics Cloud Services
OAC provides everything you need to ask any question of any data, on any device, at any time, so you can get the value you expect from analytics. This session will address configuration, service provisioning, security, and on-premise Essbase cube migration options. Advanced features such as managing users and roles, Single Sign-On (SSO), web browser and security troubleshooting, and working with log files will be covered. The pros and cons of service resource limits and application configuration properties will be addressed, including how to performance-tune your service based on available CPUs, memory, and disk space. Learn how to migrate your Essbase cubes and security filters to OAC Essbase using the Essbase LCM utility and Cube Designer application workbook utility. Lastly, we will discuss how to manage ongoing bulk maintenance of Essbase users and security filters using the Essbase Command Line Interface and MAXL scripting.
Design and Administrate Oracle Analytics Cloud Essbase Databases
OAC Service can deliver lower deployment costs, faster implementation timeframes, reduced complexity, ease of use, and significantly lower up-front and ongoing maintenance costs. Learn about designing and managing your financial reporting, allocations, and related management reporting cubes. We will discuss the pros and cons of using cube designer application workbooks and managing your cube outlines directly within OAC using dimension build rules and data load rules. We will address Essbase calculations, allocation scripts, and the most efficient design method for running calculations and allocations in the Cloud. We will cover Essbase Hybrid Aggregation mode, Drill through reports, and Dynamic Sparse Members so you can take full advantage of both Essbase Block Storage and Essbase Aggregate Storage cubes. Learn how to use the new Essbase Command Line Interface, MAXL, and REST API for batch processing and automation jobs. Lastly, we will cover new Essbase Cloud features for audit trails, partitions, and what-if scenarios.
Migrate Your Essbase Financial Reports, Web Analysis, and Smart View Reports to OAC Essbase
Moving to OAC Essbase enhances analytics capabilities, improves performance, enables collaboration, and secures your data. This session addresses end-user financial reporting and management reporting options with Smart View and the Enterprise Performance Reporting Cloud Service (EPRCS). For existing Essbase customers who use Financial Reports (FR), Web Analysis, and Smart View, we will cover how these reports can be migrated using OAC Essbase and EPRCS tools and the pros and cons of management reporting. We will also provide some advanced Smart View training for creating and printing reports, as well advanced EPRCS features for report packages and report distribution. Lastly, we will cover use cases for OAC Data Visualization and OAC BI reporting capabilities over Essbase Cloud.
Analytical insight and agility is at the forefront of growth strategy for companies across all industries. Defining the appropriate path to the Cloud then leveraging its benefits to gaining meaningful insight from your data can be an overwhelming process. OAC, the breakthrough product for both Essbase and BI, provides integrated analytic capabilities that provide the right information, to the right people, at the right time. We will examine data sources, loading ease, integrating data, developing analytic dashboards, and creating data visualizations to answer questions on the fly. We will discuss the new advanced features included in data visualization—such as machine learning and the “explain” function—and demonstrate how the new mobile tool, “Day by Day,” personalizes analytic insights for individuals.
Assess and Migrate On-Premise OBIEE to Oracle Analytics Cloud Services
If your organization currently uses On-Premise OBIEE, this webinar will help you assess options for migrating to OAC BI. Our OAC infrastructure team will discuss items such as eligible OBIEE versions and when a pre-requisite upgrade may be required or recommended; review on-premise features still on the roadmap for OAC; discuss benefits to consider by migrating to OAC (automated patches and updates; no hardware capital, direct operating costs, or software maintenance fees); and much more. We will also discuss the location of the target data warehouse and how this can remain on premise or be migrated to the Cloud. We will then walk through the key tasks required to perform the core migration steps and our speakers will be available to take questions specific to your environment.
